PRACTICALITIES
As you are coming to an island in the middle of nowhere, there are some practicalities to get familiar with.
How to get there?
Project Ö is located on the Southern tip of Finland, within Archipelago National Park. The nearest airport is Helsinki-Vantaa. It takes 2.5 hours by car from the airport/Helsinki to Kasnäs harbor and the boat ride to the island takes an additional 20 minutes. We can also arrange other forms of transport such as a helicopter, upon request.
What to take with you?
The weather in the archipelago changes quickly and can be very windy at times, making it sometimes chilly even in summertime. The rocky and uneven terrain can be slippery and same goes with the boat decks. We recommend to bring at least the following:
- Proper shoes with good grip (rubber boots available on the island)
- Enough warm clothes and layers of underwear
- Waterproof jacket
- Sunglasses and a hat

Weather
The visiting season in the archipelago is basically six months but we can organise trips at other times if you’re seeking a more extreme experience.
