- The steeper the profile, the better the house looks as an object
- Steeper angle increases the visible mass of the house. Looking at it from an eye level, the steeper angle exposes more roof and can make the entire thing look heavy
- The steeper angle works better with the snow and leaves on the roof. It also gives more interior height
- There are no leaves to worry about and the winters are mild, so there is really no functional reason for a unusually steep roof
With everything taken into account, I decided the best overall feel is somewhere in between, and I will aim at 35°. On the photo above, its the second from the right.
